A Weird Week
This past week has been a weird one for me. My energy level has been way down, had no appetite at all and I fought sinus problems, sore throat and other flu like symptoms and then the side effects of the medicine the doctor gave me. I had to cancel and reschedule several meetings and appointments, and spent a great deal of time trying to rest and sleep to get my energy level up and my health back in balance.
After several days of being completely worthless, I finally got some energy back and spent today catching up on house work and business. I believe my poor body, mind and spirit just needed some down time after coming off the event season before plunging into all the other projects I was anxious to get to work on, so it forced the down time on me. I have to learn to slow down occasionally and give myself a break, even from my passions and the fun stuff and not feel that I'm waisting time. I don't have to be doing something every second of every day. It is ok to just be sometimes.
I find when I'm most content is when I'm taking care of myself and spending my time on spiritual growth and service, whether it be by spending time with my Coven sisters, reading, writing, or creating/selling my aromatherapy products. I'm working now on approaching my professional career in event management and business development with my spirituality and also finding a stronger spiritual connection with my spouse, as we each approach spirituality differently. I know other Witches who are married to non-magickal individuals and sometimes the difference does not cause problems or issues, but can be a barrier to reaching spiritual ectasy together. My spouse is a very open minded Christian and I'm a Witch, and we desire a deeper connection with each other on a higher level. Our first step is to spend more time together so we can focus on this and figure out how to do it. And perhaps once we work through this and are successful, it may prove to be a book project we can do together to help other couples with similar challenges.
Another project for my "Want To Do" list. Will I ever learn!
